Ice skating is a classic winter activity. Whether you’re a figure skating pro or just looking to try something different this season, here’s a list of ice rinks across the Garden State to head to this winter.
The Ice Palace
Brick, NJ is home to a hockey rink that offers public skating and lessons. Skating for adults is only $10, and kids 11 and under can skate for just $8. If you don’t have skates, you can rent a pair for $5. Ice Palace is known as Ocean County’s premier rink facility and is located at 197 Chambersbridge Road.
Flyers Training Center
Who wouldn’t want to ice skate at a facility where NHL teams practice? In Vorhees, NJ, the Flyers Training Center offers public skating– you can find their schedule and prices here. The center offers passes and discounts for the season as well:
-Skate Passes go for $50 and allow the pass holder 5 skate sessions, which is valued at $55. -Members of AAA can receive 10% off of a one-day pass for two adults.
-On Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons, residents of Vorhees can skate for free if they show a valid ID.
-Active military and veterans will receive 20% off of any public skate session.
The Rink at American Dream
The American Dream Mall has a lot to offer– including an NHL-sized rink open to the public. Skate rentals are included with the admission fee. On December 10, 16, and 17 you can bring the family to skate with Santa. To book tickets, visit their website.
Skylands Ice World
This rink in Stockholm, NJ is rated one of the top 50 rainy day activities in the Garden State. With public skating every day at their NHL-sized rink, you can also sign up for skate lessons. On Friday Nights, Skylands has an Ice Jam with great music from 8:30 pm-10:30 pm.
Vintner Wonderland
Vintner Wonderland is a celebration of the harvest season at Renault Winery in Egg Harbor City. From ice skating, to fine dining and wine, to local artisans and live entertainment, there’s something for everyone during Vintner Wonderland. Ice at Pier Village
Long Branch, NJ is home to an award-winning ice-rink attraction. In the surrounding Festival Plaza you can find festive restaurants and shops. There’s also an annual Tree Lighting and NYE Firework show. Visit their website for more details.
Red Bank Armory
The Red Bank Armory was once used as a military training facility, but was converted to an ice rink in the early 2000s. They have private lessons and ice hockey events; public skating starts at $10, with $4 skate rentals. The historic architecture on the outside adds to the unique experience you’ll get at Red Bank Armory Ice Complex.
Skating on the Square
Princeton, NJ is home to an eco-friendly synthetic skating rink in Palmer Square. The synthetic rink means that the surface is not as cold as a traditional rink would be. Skate rentals are included in the ticket price, which is $10 if you pay with cash and $12 with a credit card. Tickets are only sold at the door, so no reservations for this spot.
The Rink at Winter Wonderland
Winter Wonderland in Paramus offers skating on Open Skate days; the schedule is posted here. There’s an array of food trucks, festive rides, and treats as well. Skate rentals are included in admission prices, which start at $10.
Flemington Ice Arena
The Flemington Ice Arena is having a Skate with Santa night on December 18 with skate rentals, cookies, hot chocolate and a photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus included in the admission price for the night. Newport Skates

WinterFest Ice Rink
WinterFest Ice Rink at Cooper River in Cherry Hill, NJ is an outdoor rink. With food, hot chocolate, and music, the rink offers a fun and memorable skating experience. Here are the prices for adults, kids, and skate rentals:
-Adults: $7.50
-Children 5-12: $5.50
-Seniors and Veterans: $5.50
-Skate rentals: $6
-Skate Sharpening $6.50
Igloo Ice Rink
Mount Laurel is home to a premier rink facility. It features two rinks, a pro shop, snack bar, an arcade, and lessons/league hockey. Skate rentals are included with admission prices, which can be found here.
Hollydell Ice Arena
The Hollydell Ice Arena is located in Sewell, NJ. They offer private lessons and public skate hours. Admission starts at $10 and skate rentals are $6.
Mercer County Skating Center
