The first group of outdoor ice skaters poses for a photo at the new Flight on Ice Neshaminy Mall outdoor rink.
Flight on Ice has opened a pop-up outdoor “real” ice skating rink at the Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem, bringing a season full of festive family fun now through Feb. 26.
Flight on Ice will donate a portion of the rink’s proceeds to the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #5 Survivors Fund.
“We are thrilled to bring a new family-friendly concept to the Neshaminy Mall and hope to make this a staple attraction in the community for years to come, all while helping out a great cause that is near and dear to our hearts,” said Jon Schaffer, president of Flight Entertainment.
Features include a full-size recreational outdoor skating rink, skate rentals, free on-site parking, festive music, lighting and decor, a variety of foods and beverages, heated hospitality tents for private parties, lounge areas, entertainment and a robust calendar of events.
They include a “Noon Year’s Eve” Skate Party at 11 a.m. Dec. 31, which includes a live DJ, kids’ countdown at noon, characters on ice, a mocktail toast, party favors and more. The rink is running extended holiday hours through Monday, Jan. 2.
Although tickets and rentals are available at the box office, Flight on Ice recommends reserving your sessions online in advance, especially during peak holiday hours to ensure getting on the ice in a timely manner. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own skates to save on rental fees; skate sharpening services are provided.
